Winter in WA
Forget drab days and bleak landscapes, winter in WA breaks all the stereotypes. During winter, more than 12,000 wildflower species explode across the state. It is generally a rainy season, but mingled with cool sunny days.
Remember......... A permanent winter sprinkler ban is in place for all scheme and bore water users in Perth, Mandurah and some parts of the south west from 1 June to 31 August.
Towns north of (and excluding) Kalbarri and Kalgoorlie can use sprinklers every alternate day either before 9 am or after 6 pm, based on your street number. Where there is no street number, the lot number is to be used.

The clients for this project called for a contemporary design that exuded crisp clean edges and created definitive spaces within the landscape. TDL in collaboration with House Designer (Yael K Designs), created a cohesive link between interior and exterior spaces, coordinating exterior surface finish and construction details with interior treatments.
The spaces created were to include a passive sitting/contemplation garden with a timber daybed and associated wall design, an overflowing pond at upper level with water veil falling to pool below, and a water courtyard integral to the overall concept. It was requested that the planting pallet be low maintenance, provide privacy to living spaces and complement architectural style of house.
A garden lighting layout illuminating features, up lighting significant trees and creating soft lighting to pathways was essential to the landscape scheme assisting in extending the perception of increased internal space to the residence.
The landscape was required to contain various textural elements and allow for many pockets of interest to create spaces that can be a private sanctuary or a point for communal activity.

REVEGETATION TDL is highly experienced in both revegetation and seeding projects throughout the North West, with great success on large scale projects. One of those projects was revegetation for BHP Billiton who engaged our services in which soil tests started and seed lists suitable for the area were complied. BHP put their seed bank into our care and the seed was inspected, sorted and recorded. The BHP seed was then kept on shelves in a cool air-conditioned room at TDL premises in Port Hedland. As more revegetation work came in, TDL purchased extra seed to complete the species lists for various projects. This was the beginning of the TDL Seed Bank that at present holds in excess of 1500kg with over 100 species types.
