Welcome to the autumn edition of the TDL newsletter

Autumn runs through March, April and May and sees the super hot weather start to disappear!

Autumn is a great time to consider planting projects in the garden as the cooler weather means that newly planted additions have time to acclimatise and set out new feeder roots before the summer.

This is the time to cut back those plants that have gotten out of shape over summer, remove the plants that didn’t survive the heat and plant some new ones to give the garden a lift.

Monica Palmer
Landscape Designer/Horticulturalist
Cert IV LD, Cert IV Hort. (Landscape)

After completing her Cert IV in Horticulture (Landscape), Monica was invited to be in the inaugural class of the first Australian recognised qualification for Landscape Design in Western Australia.  While studying she started her own landscape design business where she was heavily involved on site, working alongside her contractors with horticulture and soft scaping support.  Over three years, this hands-on vocation gave her a greater understanding of site conditions and construction.  At the end of her studies Monica won her first industry award for “Best Landscape Designer’s Display Garden” by taking part in a student design display garden at Garden Week in 2009.  Re-entering and displaying the following year for LIAWA, she made a back to back victory with the “Grand Champion Award” and “Best Landscaper’s Display”.  Over the past two years Monica has been involved in a business partnership focusing on Landscape Design & Project Management.  She has recently joined TDL as a Landscape Designer and to work alongside senior management with business development for TDL.  Monica is a past committee member for Landscape Industries Association of Western Australia (LIAWA).

TDL hosted a display at the Pool, Spa and Outdoor Living Expo which was held at the Claremont Showgrounds on the 10th & 11th March.

It was a great opportunity to showcase our services and speak with a diverse group of people about their own outdoor projects.

We found the experience very enjoyable and an invaluable tool to get the TDL name out there.

The show runs again in September, hopefully we will see you there.
