World War II History Pin walk For a bit of fun you can even grab a group of people and take the World War II History Pin walk and discover facts including that Caloundra was a restricted area during World War II. The area had army camps that stretched from Dicky Beach to Currimundi to Kings Beach. Chosen for its close proximity to the major shipping channel, Caloundra was used as an observation area for shipping movements and much more. This walk contains a small selection of images from the Caloundra World War II collection and it is recommended to start in the Kings Beach Car Park where there are lots of car parks and amenities. At a gentle pace the walk will take about 40 minutes.
