A bright idea to slash energy use and emissions |

Council is making a gradual switch to LED (light-emitting diode) lighting to cut power costs and reduce emissions.
LEDs are now lighting up much of Council’s Tewantin chambers. Sensors turn off lights automatically in rooms that aren’t in use, while new LED lights along the building’s exterior have reduced running and repair costs by thousands of dollars a year. Read more. |

Plan in place for Noosa Parklands bush reserves |

Council has approved a new management plan for parks and bush reserves in the Noosa Parklands estate.
Developed in consultation with the local community the plan includes 17 actions, which cover signage, improvements to pathways and facilities, expansion of fire trails and numerous other topics. Read more. |

Surf club toilets reopen after revamp |

The Noosa Heads Surf Club public toilets have reopened with a fresh new fit-out.
The five-week renovation – a joint partnership of Council and the Hastings Street Association – has delivered new cubicles, two new ambulant toilets, new drainage system and brighter colour scheme. Read more. |
