'Responsible' budget delivers $23.1M capital works program

Noosa Mayor Tony Wellington has presented a "responsible and practical" budget that delivers a $23.1 million capital works program whilst keeping rate rises to a minimum.

Council will contribute to the $1.7 million required to upgrade two high-priority intersections. Read more.

Have a say on Noosa Parklands park management plan

Residents are invited to have a say on a draft management plan for the parks and bush reserves in the Noosa Parklands residential estate.

Mosquito and weed control, flooding and bushfires are just some of the issues discussed in the draft plan. Residents can ask questions of staff at information pop-ups on 6 July and 21 July. Read more.

Flying-foxes on the move

Residents living near Wallace Park may have a reprieve from the impact of neighbouring flying-foxes.

Recent reports suggesting that the flying-foxes have moved back to Goat Island have been confirmed by Council. Read more.

Active Mums program 'life-changing'

Women taking part in Noosa Council’s Active Mums program say it’s a great way to ease back into exercise and fitness after childbirth.

More than 300 mums have realised the benefits of the Noosa Council program, which provides free and affordable access to a wide range of activities in partnership with local businesses. Read more.

Three-year cash boost for community groups

A wide range of community groups are set for a cash boost in the first round of Noosa Council’s new Community Alliance Grants.

Council approved $133,500 of Community Alliance Grants – part of the revamped Community Grants Program. 15 community organisations will receive funding over three years. Read more.

Colourful canoe to launch NAIDOC Celebrations at the Gallery

An outrigger canoe illustrated with intricately hand-painted Indigenous art will make a splash at Noosa Regional Gallery this July, in celebration of NAIDOC Week.

The canoe, by Nandjimadji Art Group, will feature amongst some of the group’s other works and a solo show of paintings by local indigenous artist Hope O’Chin. Read more.
