Noosa Council has endorsed a 27-point action plan to better protect local koalas.

Mayor Tony Wellington thanked residents and wildlife groups for helping develop the Noosa Shire Koala Conservation Plan, which Council is now rolling out. Read more.

New online system to help Noosa traders vie for business with Council

Noosa Council has launched a new online quotation system with the aim of making it simpler for local traders to vie for business with Council.

Called VendorPanel Marketplace, the system will allow Council staff to search a list of registered traders and request quotes for specific Council goods and services up to a value of $200,000. Read more.

Council's climate change response heats up

Noosa Council has called in climate action heavyweights Dr Stephen Bygrave and Michael Lord in its quest to slash emissions.

The Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) experts have begun auditing Council’s buildings, waste service, fleet and infrastructure in the hunt for opportunities to reduce emissions. Read more.

Noosa-style bus shelter fetches more awards

Noosa’s new-look bus shelters have continued their winning streak, this time collecting two Queensland design awards.

The Majstorovic Architecture design won the Urban Design Award and Sustainable Architecture Award in the 2016 Queensland State Architecture Awards, hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects. Read more.

Dr Pages Road upgrade a win for hinterland tourism

Former Noosa Mayor Noel Playford has cut the ribbon on Council's $5.6 million Dr Pages Road upgrade. Dr Pages Road is already carrying an extra 100 vehicles a day since being sealed, in a win for hinterland tourism.

The Federal Government’s ‘Roads to Recovery’ funding program contributed $1,826,696 toward the project. Read more.

Noosa digs in for National Tree Day

Noosa’s Bushland Care Groups are gearing up again for National Tree Day on Sunday 31 July.

Planet Ark launched National Tree Day in 1996 and since then, 22 million trees have been planted by more than 3.5 million volunteers. Read more.
