New Mobile Library to hit the road in December
|
A brand new, more versatile, Mobile Library packed with more than 2500 items will hit the road in December.
Equipped with an air-conditioned browsing section and an awning-covered alfresco area, the new Mobile Library will replace the existing vehicle (pictured) which has been on the road since 2006.
Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart said the brand new vehicle would extend the library’s reach.
“Having a smaller, more modern vehicle will enable our library team to venture into new areas of the shire that the current vehicle can’t access due to its size,” she said.
“It also means we can answer requests to visit day care centres, retirement villages and Men’s Sheds – places where the current Mobile Library cannot park.
“Customers will be able to board the new Mobile Library to browse the collection and enjoy the social aspect of meeting friends or attending a workshop under the awning-covered alfresco area.” Read more.

Help balance the budget
|
You can help “balance the budget” during a month-long community consultation process to be held in March.
Noosa Council is one of a handful of councils in Australia to use the “balancing act” online tool as part of its engagement process.
Residents will be able to submit views on spending priorities and initiatives and "balance the budget" by either increasing revenue or cutting costs in other areas. Details will be available shortly on Council's Your Say Noosa website.

Bridge build under budget
|
The new Orealla Bridge will not only keep traffic flowing along David Low Way at Sunrise Beach for another 100 years, its construction came in nearly $3M under budget.
Funded on a 50/50 basis by the Australian Government through the Bridges Renewal Program and Noosa Council, the project employed local contractors, involved 34 suppliers and created local jobs.
Mayor Clare Stewart said the huge savings and complex build was a credit to all involved. Read more.
