Noosa Council’s popular bulk kerbside waste collection begins this month.
Contractors will visit the Shire’s south first, and then work their way north along the beaches, into the urban centres of Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Tewantin, and out to the hinterland. Read more.

The mission is on to find the Library’s new NAO humanoid robot a name. Noosa Library Service has launched a competition to find the walking, talking, fully programmable robot, a new moniker.

Council calls for rethink on koala offset site |

Council is calling on Main Roads to rethink its choice of sites for 60,000 koala trees currently destined for land beside the Bruce Highway, north of Cooroy.
Councillors have endorsed a motion asking the State department to work with Council to identify alternative sites that will deliver a better outcome for Noosa’s koalas. Read more. |

Community Jury members give jury concept the tick |

Noosa’s inaugural Community Jury members have given the community jury concept – a first for a Queensland council – the thumbs-up.
The 23 residents are finalising a set of recommendations on ways to reduce the 11,000 tonnes of organic waste Noosa is dumping to landfill annually. Read more. |
