Learn to Swim
The NAC is giving back to the community! As part of National Learn to Swim Week we have teamed up with swimming guru Laurie Lawrence and Kids Alive - Do the Five to give every child aged under five the chance to learn to swim this season and remind everyone about the importance of water safety. Laurie says “it’s all about teaching kids to swim and working towards zero drownings among Aussie kids”. Tell your friends: new customers receive free lessons for children under 5 years during National Learn to Swim Week 2 – 9 October! Bookings now open. What is great about your child attending swimming lessons at the NAC? Besides having great instruction from our wonderfully skilled teachers, they have the opportunity to play and have fun even when their lesson is finished. We always encourage parents to let their children take advantage of this benefit to help develop more confidence and skills in the water. With the weather warming up, children will want to be in the water having fun. A reminder to parents: children who have lessons still require as much supervision around water as children who don’t attend swimming lessons. Fun can turn to tragedy very quickly around water out of a controlled familiar environment. Supervise constantly!

NAC Workshop Series
The NAC monthly workshops continue, giving you the opportunity to improve your knowledge and technique in different areas and identify what you need to work on to become stronger, healthier, and avoid injuries. August offered the falls prevention program Steady Steps; September was all about adult Learn-to-Swim, while October will be the more advanced Swimming Stroke Development course with legend coaches Jan and Nick Croft, ideal for those who wish to improve their technique and get faster and more efficient in the water. November’s topic is Healthy Ageing, with nutrition and lifestyle tips, exercises for the mind and body, and injury prevention advice. After a break in December we return in January with Mike Dunham’s Core Strength workshop where you will learn core exercises for gym and home, how to improve posture and balance and decrease likelihood of injury in day-to-day activities. See reception now to book your spot as spaces are limited (and the last two workshops sold out!).

Teen Gym
The first successful term of Teen Gym is coming to an end, so it is time now to sign up for the second term. For only $99 13-17 year olds receive ten weeks of gym workouts supervised by Strength and Conditioning Specialist Riley O’Brien. Thursdays 3-5pm and Saturdays 8.30-10.30am.

Sunset Aqua
With the weather warming up slowly, evening Aqua Aerobics classes are returning later in the month. Delia will keep you busy on Mondays, with a new mystery instructor on Wednesdays. Keep your eye out for the new Group Fitness timetable at reception and on the NAC website here

Inflatable Fun
The NAC’s ever-popular Inflatable is back every day during the school holidays, and every weekend afterwards between 12-3pm.
